We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Copy Manager on our Marketing & Membership Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Copy Manager, you will be communicating Membership’s messaging for marketing and advertising campaigns using a consistent brand voice, look and strategic point of view across all channels. Deliver messaging using the power of words to drive audiences to action.  Leverage data for sound decision-making, marketing expertise and creative judgement as part of a team to generate effective messaging and creative concepts that elevate the AMA brand and membership experience. Develop and present concise, compelling copy.

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Journalism, English, Integrated Marketing Communications or related discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum 5+years’ experience writing and editing in advertising, public relations, marketing communications or related field required. Experience must include direct response and advertising writing with proven success in direct response channels.
  3. Must be fluent in AP style
  4. Strong logic, reasoning and problem-solving skills with solid research and fact-checking capabilities.
  5. A results-driven writing style and understanding of how data informs messaging strategy with a demonstrated record of successful KPIs such as response rate, click through rate, click to open rate, and conversion rate, within the direct mail and email channels.
  6. Experience with omni-channel marketing; ability to integrate print communications with digital communications.   
  7. Detail-oriented, versatile and creative professional with excellent organizational skills.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment both collaboratively and as a strong individual contributor
  9. Project management skills required with the ability to manage multiple programs and projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment sometimes leveraging the support of internal and external staff.
  10. Familiarity with marketing tools such as: Google Analytics, Asana.
