WFMZ-TV 69 News is seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented Berks Digital Web Producer to join our award-winning digital team.
The Berks Digital Web Producer will be responsible for creating, publishing, and managing digital content focused on Berks County while supporting the overall mission of 69 News across all digital platforms. This position plays a key role in delivering timely, accurate, and engaging local news to our audience.
Responsibilities
Write, edit, and publish breaking news, weather, sports, and feature content for WFMZ.com and mobile platforms.
Monitor news sources, social media, scanners, and public information channels for developing stories.
Produce digital-first content including articles, photo galleries, videos, and live updates.
Optimize content for search engines (SEO), audience engagement, and social media distribution.
Collaborate with newsroom producers, reporters, photographers, and assignment editors to ensure comprehensive coverage of local news.
Manage and update story content as new information becomes available.
Assist with livestream coverage, push alerts, and special digital projects.
Maintain high journalistic standards for accuracy, fairness, and credibility.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
Strong news judgment and understanding of digital storytelling.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, and digital publishing tools preferred.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and audience analytics is a plus.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of Berks County and the surrounding region is preferred.
Schedule
This position may require flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as news coverage demands.
