WFMZ-TV, the Lehigh Valley's leading local news organization, is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and innovative Nightside Executive Producer to lead our evening news operation.

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the editorial vision, content strategy, and day-to-day execution of our nightside newscasts and digital coverage.  The ideal candidate is a strong newsroom leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces breaking news, and is passionate about producing compelling, community-focused journalism.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of all nightside newscasts and related digital content. 
• Lead and mentor producers, reporters, anchors, and assignment desk personnel during evening shifts. 
• Make critical editorial decisions on story selection, placement, and presentation. 
• Coordinate breaking news coverage across broadcast, digital, and social media platforms. 
• Ensure accuracy, fairness, and adherence to journalistic standards. 
• Collaborate with news managers and other departments to execute station initiatives and special projects. 
• Drive compelling storytelling, creative production techniques, and audience engagement strategies. 
• Monitor competitive coverage and identify opportunities to strengthen WFMZ's market leadership. 
• Manage newsroom workflow to ensure deadlines are met and resources are effectively utilized. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 
• Minimum of 3 years of television news experience, including significant producing experience. 
• Previous newsroom leadership or supervisory experience preferred. 
• Strong news judgment and a demonstrated ability to lead breaking news coverage. 
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills. 
• Proficiency with newsroom computer systems, digital publishing platforms, and social media tools. 
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as news coverage demands. 
• A proven track record of developing compelling content that serves local audiences.
