Job Description

WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, SC, is looking for an Operations & Program Manager who will oversee the management of operations and program duties for our broadcast on-air program streams. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operations that keep us in compliance with FCC rules and regulations through Master Control daily
  • Create and distribute program schedule, program changes, along with the Me TV Carolina program schedule to listings services
  • Compile the Issues/Programming categories to prepare for the FCC Report
  • Schedule and keep track of Children’s Programming and create programming crawls when there are changes in compliance with FCC rules and regulations
  • Update and send the programming grid and program formats to our traffic/logs department in Charlotte
  • Compile information on special programs for music report monthly
  • Maintain a dialog with other departments to support their operations.
  • Make sure the EAS Tests run on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Work with other departments to schedule local programming and to problem solve issues with commercials and programming
  • Point of contact between Operations and other departments.
  • Oversee training for all new employees as well as cross training for other employees
  • Create and distribute Operations employee’s schedule
  • Complete Employee evaluations for the Operations Department
  • Assign duties for special programming
  • Monitor Master Control Discrepancy Report and newscast QCR’s for any issues and act accordingly

Requirements

  • 5+ years of computer, email, software and web applications
  • Prior management experience with television station operations and newscast production
  • Work in a collaborative environment and independently
  • Experience with master control and director activities and tasks preferred; training will be offered for qualified candidates
  • Knowledge of graphics systems for on-air branding and messaging
  • Higher education in technology, SBE or related military experience will be considered
