Job Description

KFSN-TV/ABC30 Action News, the ABC Owned Television station in Central California, is seeking a full-time Sports Anchor/Reporter.

This role includes anchoring weekend sportscasts.  The successful candidate will shoot, write and edit sports stories for the station’s top-rated newscasts and digital platforms. This person must be organized and work well under pressure and constant deadlines.  They will be expected to have a strong understanding of local sports and develop contacts to help break major sports stories. We also want someone who is receptive to feedback and brings a positive attitude every day.

Responsibilities:

• Anchor weekend sportscasts
• Shoot, write, and edit sports stories, including feature packages
• Field report live from various sporting events
• Anchor for Sports Director as needed

 
Basic Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. This is not an entry level position.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

 
Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Dalet and Adobe Premiere are a plus
• Knowledge of the Central Valley and bilingual skills are a plus

 
 
Required Education:

• College degree

 
 
This position is covered under the SAG-AFTRA agreement. The pay rate for this role in Fresno, CA is $52,500.00 to $76,654.00 per year. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
