Job Description

WBBH TV, Gulf Coast News in Fort Myers, Florida, is looking for a high-energy weekend Anchor Reporter with proven leadership skills to join our team. In addition to credibility, poise, and personality, we're looking for an Anchor who isn't afraid to head out into the field and break the big stories. You are a versatile, enterprising self-starter who is fast, efficient, works well under tight deadlines, can develop sources, and isn’t afraid to jump into newscast scripts. We are looking for a weekend Anchor Reporter who can be a newsroom leader with a positive drive to make a difference in our newscasts and in our community. You will report to the News Director. 

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose 
• Report from the field as directed by management
• Have an active presence on social media that engages the audience
• An ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
• Appears on behalf of the station at public events
• Other duties within newscasts as directed by management

Requirements

• Proven ability to connect with viewers
• Ability to work varied shifts, including overnights, mornings and weekends   
• Can deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
• Demonstrated ability with digital media and social media            
• 2 years anchoring experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years reporting experience 
• Demonstrated ability to enterprise and uncover stories
• Your demo reel should be indicative of your everyday work
• Related military experience will be considered
