TPM is seeking a senior editor to help lead a team of reporters in deep, immersive, fast-paced coverage of U.S. politics, policy, and related coverage areas. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to engage and inspire your team, and the desire to work in a highly collaborative setting on new and innovative ways to tell stories.
Outstanding news judgment, a strong grasp of U.S. politics, a familiarity with TPM’s editorial voice, the ability to juggle stories of multiple lengths and varying levels of complexity, and a sharp sense of humor are all required. The senior editor will have a significant role in helping to direct overall news coverage and manage the editorial team.
A minimum of five years of professional editing and/or reporting experience is required. Experience managing reporters is preferred.
The position is based in either NYC or DC. The salary range is $85,000-$110,000 annually. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), and three weeks paid vacation per year.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America East Collective Bargaining Agreement.
