Job Description

Capital & Main, a nonprofit news publication, is seeking a development associate for a full-time position. The development associate will work directly with the publisher on a range of projects, including:
  • Writing grant applications and grant reports
  • Researching prospective foundation, private and corporate donors
  • Managing the grants database
  • Scheduling donor meetings
  • Planning and assisting with donor events
  • Managing publisher’s calendar and travel arrangements
  • Overseeing letter distribution for tax deductible donations
 
Applicants should have the following skills:
  • 1-2 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising or grant writing or equivalent
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Proficiency in database and spreadsheet management
  • Highly organized
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work well with a range of co-workers
  • Interest in journalism and the issues that Capital & Main covers
 
The development associate will work primarily at Capital & Main’s Echo Park office but some hybrid flexibility can be discussed. The position may require some weekend and evening hours.
