Gathers information about newsworthy events, people and issues through face-to-face interviews, investigation, data searches and observation and uses that information to produce clear, accurate content for one of the company’s platforms -- print, Web, mobile, multimedia.

Ability to gather and organize facts and information quickly and accurately.
Ability to present information in written or spoken form clearly and comprehensively
Skilled knowledge of grammar, punctuation and journalist style guidelines.

Ability to learn evolving technology as it is integrated in print and web operations.
Ability to develop story ideas.
Ability to follow editors’ instructions and meet performance goals.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications or equivalent experience.
Previous reporting experience with a daily news enterprise.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have the aptitude to learn all necessary and evolving technology needed to provide stories – in some cases from remote locations – to the print and web product.
Certificates & Licenses
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and vehicle available for work.
Good interpersonal skills to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Ability to handle proprietary information and keep it confidential.
