Job Description
The Virginia Tech School of Communication invites applications for a
full-time
assistant professor of practice (non-tenure-track). The
new faculty member will be expected to teach multimedia journalism and sports media skills courses, and should have familiarity with Adobe products such as Adobe Premiere, Audition and Photoshop. Possible courses include Media Writing, Visual Media, Introduction to Sports Media, Sports Journalism and Play-by-Play Reporting, as well as courses relevant to the instructor’s area of expertise. The
faculty member will teach three classes per semester.

Job Requirements
Preference will be given to applicants with: Master’s degree in journalism or related field or bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, sports management or related field with substantial experience in sports media. Demonstration of extensive professional media-industry expertise.
Other desired qualifications include
: Doctorate in mass communication or related field, communication sports management or related field. Full-time experience in sports journalism On-air reporting or play-by-play experience. Knowledge of Digital news/sports production College-level teaching experience. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
