Ideastream Public Media, a Cleveland-based multiple media organization and home to Ohio’s largest PBS, NPR, and classical radio stations, seeks an experienced digital journalist to serve as a Digital News Editor who will create and assist with supervising the creation of high-quality digital news content, projects and events.
Reporting to the News Director, the Digital News Editor is responsible for managing digital news content on ideastream.org ensuring that this content meets SEO best practice standards. In this role, you will edit digital news stories produced by reporters, create breaking news content for our digital platforms, ensure that Ideastream maintains the highest editorial and journalistic standards in its news gathering and reporting, monitor social media and other sources for story ideas and develop sources that reflect the racial, economic and geographical diversity of Northeast Ohio.

Qualified candidates will be proficient in writing, editing and proofreading for digital, have knowledge of digital content production and evolving digital technologies, and have the ability to leverage social media platforms for journalistic purposes. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and multitask under deadline pressure. A Bachelor’s Degree in digital media, journalism or a related field, and five years of journalism and reporting experience is preferred, though an equivalent of experience in related fields and education will be considered.
