Pace University, located in Manhattan, is seeking an experienced professional reporting to and responsible for assisting the Assistant Dean for Communications (ADC), Dyson Dean's Office of Communications (DOC) at the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences. Duties include managing the aspects of producing Dyson College's print and digital publications and videos, while interacting with deans, academic department chairs and program directors, senior College and University administrators, staff, alumni, students, and external vendors, and members of the DOC team.
Developing, managing and serving as manager of content for Dyson College's various digital and print communications channels, including print/digital publications, video, website, and marketing collateral. Will develop communication channels with key constituents at Dyson College to solicit/obtain important, newsworthy information about student/faculty accomplishments/awards, program development, events, and other announcements.
Serving as primary writer and editor of Dyson's quarterly online newsletter, Dyson Digital Digest and the annual Dyson Year in Review (DYIR), and managing publications from inception through publication. Will also oversee creation/development of content and print production and distribution of DYIR with graphic designer, from concept to content development, to print and digital delivery.
Additional writing/editing tasks for print and online collateral include website feature articles and news briefs; brochures; fliers; press releases; announcements; fact sheets, etc. Reviewing/editing DOC team members' articles for news briefs, feature stories, and all other messaging/collateral as assigned. This includes proofreading, copyediting, fact-checking, and obtaining copyright submissions and permissions. Lead DOC weekly editorial calendar meetings/make story assignments. Assist with social media content and campaigns.
Overseeing the production of Dyson College's graduate program videos, and other special project videos and serving as key lead with an outside production company for all video projects.
Hiring and scheduling photographers for special events.
Assisting with special events, including the annual travel documentary premiere screening and annual awards events.
Supporting the goals and objectives of the Dyson Strategic Plan and the Pace Strategic Plan and the ADC on special projects.
Baccalaureate degree in journalism, English, communications, or related field
4-6 years writing, editing, publication, editorial, and project management experience
Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience with video production and photoshoots
Possess a strong understanding of print/digital communications channels, and inherent curiosity about emerging platforms. Willingness to be creative and experiment with cutting-edge platforms and channels
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as with Windows and MAC software
Familiarity with new media and video applications and tools and their appropriate use
