Working and collaborating daily with the Senior Broadcast Producer, the Producer is responsible for the day to day running of both broadcasts for YouTube and Broadcast TV. The Producer oversees the production/control room team, managing all stages of the production process from story development through post-production. Please note this is a fixed term/temporary position. Specific responsibilities include: • Oversee all broadcast editorial & booking of guests; • Work with anchor to decide broadcast vision each week; • Develop editorial calendar for show to plan segments in advance • Provides editorial and production guidance to teams during all phases of story development, production and editing; Ensures all information checked for accuracy; • Works with on-camera talent as required; • Oversee video elements for broadcast and supervising editing of such elements; • Work with production teams to broadcast weekly show on YouTube and then oversee edits for NJ PBS; • Work with graphics team on all requests for both broadcasts; • Work closely with digital team to execute streaming shows and on all social advance press; • Additional duties, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will have exceptional planning, organization, problem analysis and decision-making skills along with ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines. Additional qualifications include: • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in television journalism and news; at least five (5) years of which will have been overseeing teams in a news environment; • Exceptional ability to write for video and copy edit scripts; • Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; • Exceptional research skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills; • Ability to travel if needed.
