At the Pennsylvania Capital-Star, we pride ourselves on honest and aggressive coverage of Pennsylvania politics and policy, and we’re seeking an experienced reporter who can help us further that mission.
This reporter would join a small, but dedicated team, based in our state Capitol newsroom in Harrisburg, Pa., and should be comfortable with diving into public documents to tease out that unseen detail, considering budgets from the perspective of the taxpayer, and helping us join the dots between the actions of state government and the diverse commonwealth of nearly 13 million people whose decisions it impacts every day.
This job includes a mix of legislative coverage, focused on the Pennsylvania state Senate, as well as politics and policy coverage that ramps up during campaign years.
With our unique blend of breaking news, reader-friendly explainers, in-depth features, and persuasive commentary, the Capital-Star also is committed to elevating voices who too often go unheard or overlooked in our public dialogue. This reporter would be expected to go beyond the usual power players, and make sure those voices are featured in our journalism.ABOUT US:
