Television Documentary-news series known for its insights and conversation pushing content seeks experienced Associate Producers and Segment Producers. The series is being made in conjunction with an established news outlet ands includes news making interviews and illuminating segments on topics from tech, business and politics.
Segment producers are responsible for taking stories from development through post, working to create strong, journalistically sound narratives that are visually engaging and intellectually eye opening. Ideal candidates should have a background in journalism and documentary, and experience working in news or on a weekly television series. Strong writing and visualization skills are essential, as are good news judgment and adherence to the highest journalistic standards and practices. Producers should be comfortable with complex subject matters and castings, coordinating crews and talent in the field (both domestically and internationally) with the ability to direct if needed. Producers are also responsible for prepping materials for edit, and working closely with editors to cut pieces down to time on tight deadlines. Associate Producers support producers with segments from pre-production through delivery. Ideal candidates should have at least 2-3 years of prior experience as an Associate Producer on a multi-episode series in news or documentary, strong writing, research and organizational skills, an attention to detail, the ability to juggle many moving pieces on tight deadlines, and experience with domestic and international productions.
