Instructor or Assistant Professor of Integrated Public Relations (Journalists are welcome to apply.)
 
Job Description:
 
The instructor would teach courses in the Integrated Public Relations concentration, including: Print News Reporting, Introduction to Media Writing, Introduction to Public Relations, Public Relations Strategies and Tactics, Social Media Management, Media Research Methods, and others. The instructor would be a major advisor to students in the IPR concentration. He or she would also advise student members of the Miles College Association of Black Journalists, the Communications Club, the Lambda Pi Eta honor society, and/or the student publication The Milean.
 
Required Education and Experience:
 
The candidate must have earned a minimum of a master’s degree in mass communications, public relations, journalism, mass media, or a related discipline (a doctorate is preferred). The candidate is also required to have experience teaching mass media courses at the college level for a minimum of five years. In addition, the candidate is expected to have at least five years of experience employed in public relations, journalism, or a relevant media profession.
 
Required Skills and Ability:
 
The prospect must be proficient in teaching editing using InDesign and Photoshop.

The founders of the institution envisioned higher education as paramount to the advancement of the African-American community. The College is located in Fairfield, Ala., near Birmingham. The institution is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
