What part will you play?
The Producer is responsible for generating, pitching and executing creative, enterprise reporting and story ideas, particularly character driven stories across all platforms.
What will you be doing?
Identifying and developing stories. Setting up remotes and conducting interviews within a breaking news pace. Develop confidential sources, gain fast access to rights holders of internet content sites and be able to track down potential interviewees quickly. Pivoting between live shots and interviews to write packages, wires and digital scripts - adept at digital newsgathering and social media. In this role the Producer collaborates with editors, photojournalists, bookers, show and segment producers and writers. Lead and execute highly produced live segments in the field and in the studio. Covering national stories for The Most Trusted Name in News means that the Field Producer will travel up to 50% and must be able to be deployed for a story on short notice.
What do we need from you?
Minimum 5 years of news environment/production environment. Strong editorial and production skills. Field production experience a plus. Strong writing and research skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding or experience with DNG/ENG aspects. BA/BS in Journalism, Television-Film Production, Communication or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
