HuffPost is looking for an experienced editor to spearhead our economics, business and tech coverage.
This is a new position with the space and autonomy to shape and create coverage in some of HuffPost’s most important coverage areas, and have real, tangible impact through HuffPost’s massive distribution network and readership. This is an opportunity to speak truth to power, hold leaders accountable, and elevate the voices of people who are creating in and changing these sectors for the greater good.
We aren’t speaking to industry insiders. We are telling HuffPost readers the stories they need to hear—as consumers, and people with practical and ethical decisions to make. We are looking for profiles, investigations and scoops, and truly novel points of view.
We are looking for an editor who loves to push reporters, has the drive to direct coverage with original ideas, sources of their own, and exceptional story editing skills. This also position requires the confidence to assign with ambition, generate angles off of breaking news, juggle short, mid-, and long range assignments, and mentor reporters.
HuffPost also tells stories in many formats, so you must be comfortable working in visual and aural mediums as well as text, and be excited to collaborate closely with others on complex multimedia projects.
You will be joining a growing and diverse newsroom that reaches nearly 170 million people across the globe every month, and many millions more through our social platforms and partner portals like Yahoo and AOL, which together reach over a billion users every month.
