Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, is consistently ranked among the top Southern public universities. The Department of Mass Communication is ACEJMC accredited. We offer professionally focused undergraduate programs (Mass Communication; Integrated Marketing Communication) and participate in an interdisciplinary Digital Information Design major. 

Applications are invited for a tenure track assistant professor position to begin August 15, 2018.  We seek a talented colleague with professional expertise in digital media to teach courses in at least two of these areas: digital storytelling for news and/or promotions, social media, media analytics, digital literacy & culture. Applicants must be comfortable using and teaching digital production software and conduct outreach to area professionals.


 

Job Requirements

Candidates should have an earned doctorate in mass communication/related areas. A terminal master’s degree (e.g. MFA) with substantial professional digital experience will be considered. ABDs who meet position qualifications will be considered for initial appointment at instructor rank and expected to complete the doctorate within a year.
Evidence of successful teaching, scholarship and service is required.
