Job Description

As a member of the Internal Communications team within the corporate Human Resources department, the primary objective for this position is to drive internal communication initiatives that heighten employee engagement, advance our transformation as the leader in the education and technology industry, and elevate our mission to make a difference in the lives of learners around the globe. Leveraging strong writing as well as graphic design and project management skills, the Coordinator will help develop and manage a wide variety of communications, communications campaigns, communications channels, and communications events. The position reports to the Director of Internal Communications.

  • Support an internal communications plan that helps to drive the strategic and operational goals of the business.
  • Develop content for internal communications vehicles that facilitate the appropriate breadth and depth in communicating information, including the communication of key priorities, success stories, and important business-related information.
  • Develop and manage a publishing calendar that ensures an even and timely pace of content flow across internal channels.
  • Research, write and publish stories to our internal Sharepoint Portal and manage the overall look and feel of the site.
  • Manage reporting, writing, editing, design and production for our bi-weekly e-newsletter.
  • Produce and manage the flow of visual content for the 40+ Digital Sign displays in all major U.S. offices.
  • Partner with internal organizations – especially HR partners -- to develop and execute internal communications plans.
  • Support the production of video communications.
  • Support communications events such as in-person executive town halls and monthly CEO webcasts.
  • Project manage and support the launch of new communications-related initiatives and programs; maintain and improve existing programs.
  • Develop strong relationships and credibility with key managers and employees to form effective partnerships.
  • Maintain widespread internal relations to keep channels of communication and information flow open to all audiences.
  • Other duties, projects and roles as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with communications-related work (i.e. Marketing, Communications, Public relations or related functional work) in a mid- to large-size company.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience writing complex communications (Writing samples will be required during the application process).
  • Proven project management capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive; ability to work on tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and sometimes confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Advanced-level skills with MS PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe InDesign.


  • Experience with PoliteMail or another e-mail campaign system.
  • Experience working with and analyzing communication metrics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Graduate degree.
