Job Description

Reno Public Radio (KUNR-FM) in Reno, NV is seeking an experienced Morning Edition Host with strong journalism skills to add to our expanding news presence.

The Morning Edition Host/Journalist for KUNR at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) performs two main functions. First, the position hosts the Morning Edition shift in morning drive time (live Monday-Friday 5 am to 9 am) producing live local newscasts and reading underwriting messaging and station promotions. Second, the position creates original radio news stories and community segments (research, interviews, writing, voicing). In addition to daily original stories, the incumbent is assigned to the lengthier in-depth reports as needed and helps produce other content for the station. The Journalist is responsible for ensuring proper online delivery of all original stories on the station website and via social networking and acts as an editor when needed by other journalists for peer review. The Broadcast Journalist assists in training of and directs news interns and volunteers. The Morning Edition Host/Journalist reports to the KUNR News Director.

Make an immediate impact in our community by hosting Morning Edition (our largest daily audience) providing compelling storytelling and NPR-style journalism across broadcast and digital platforms. Create engaging content with an entrepreneurial mindset – hustle, teamwork and your own talent. Join a passionate, collaborative, inclusive team.

Reno/Tahoe has recreation right out the back door, a thriving business climate and a vibrant food and arts scene.
