We’re looking for adventurous, creative social and video talent to join our startup, Red Clay Media
  

We’re exciting to expand an already successful social video team by launching Red Clay Media, a startup that will build brands centered around sharable, Southern-focused content. From humor to travel, our social videos will reach audiences throughout the South (and even those Southerners who left and miss home).   • This is Alabama, a community that celebrates all the things that make Alabama a great place to live. Since its December launch, This is Alabama has grown to 230K Facebook followers and 37K Instagram followers, and has channels on YouTube, Roku and Apple TV;
  • SEC Shorts, a college football comedy series with more than 7 million video views during the 2016 season;
  • It’s a Southern Thing, a new regional social brand focused on Southern culture and identity content;
  • People of Alabama, a new photographic profile series that will feature more than 700 Alabamians.

Social community manager
This role will require someone who proactively seeks new ways to engage our audience across multiple platforms, continuously analyzes performance of social content and re-evaluates tactics based on metrics. We’re seeking someone who keeps up with trends relative to audience engagement, innovates and quickly adjusts based on results.
  
Requirements: 
•   active social media presence
•   proven experience building, maintaining and engaging an active audience
•   experience producing written and visual content, including video
•   solid understanding of grammar and ability to write clean copy
•   desire to be part of, spark and add to cultural conversations 
•   recognition and understanding of evolving social tools and trends

Social video producer 
This position will work individually and as part of a team to highly sharable videos about Southern culture. We are seeking someone who is already an active consumer of social video as well as a creator of video that builds audience, is excited about experimentation, and is not afraid to stop doing what isn’t working. Successful candidates will have a deep working knowledge of social video trends and techniques as well as be skilled in video editing, graphics, motion graphics and design.     
Requirements: 
•   proven experience and understanding of how to create, find and optimize video for sharing 
•   desire to be part of, spark and add to cultural conversations 
•   recognition and understanding of evolving online video tools and trends 
•   active social media presence 
•   self-starter and a multi-tasker 
•   ability to work individually and collaboratively 
•   strong shooting skills and visual thinker a plus 
•   enthusiasm for and willingness to discover what Alabama and the South has to offer 
•   proficient using Adobe Premiere
  
  
Social producer and shooter 
This position is for a strong visual and social thinker. We are looking for someone who can create their own videos as well as offer shooting and editing help with other team members’ videos. This role requires someone with great visual storytelling skills first and foremost. We’re seeking someone interested in helping us improve the overall quality of our visual video storytelling. 
Requirements: 
•   skilled editor in Adobe Premiere 
•   excellent shooter, skilled with professional video camera gear, lighting, audio 
•   deep experience in using Adobe Creative Suite products
•   proven experience and understanding of how to create, find and optimize video for sharing 
  
  
Motion graphic designer/animator 
We are looking for someone who enjoys creating and enhancing social content through graphics, illustration and animation. The motion graphic designer’s work will be original as well as complement all forms of our video. The designer will conceive of or work with the team to produce culture and lifestyle original work and determine and execute stories that best lend themselves to graphic storytelling. 
Requirements: 
• ability to translate stories into graphic form 
• strong design sense/strong sense of typography 
• dexterity with Adobe After effects, Photoshop, Illustrator 
• strong plus: proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro X) 
• strong plus: 3D graphics capabilities
