Opportunity: Under supervision of an executive director, in concert with division and University priorities, this position interacts with leaders across campus to gather facts, figures, personal stories and evidence of university impact that contribute to the development of compelling marketing communications content. In conjunction with a team of highly skilled writers, this position provides considerable professional and technical skill to elevate the university's brand identity and reputation through engaging, persuasive and results-oriented copy written for various target audiences across a full range of communication channels. Functioning as a team lead, facilitates and contributes to content strategy, story planning and message development. Assures content creation aligns with overall university messaging and content strategy.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or other related field of study. Minimum of five years' professional experience writing and editing promotional content for the Web, ads, brochures, direct mail, video scripts and other shorter pieces, as well as longer newsletter and feature articles; to include two years of supervisory experience and working as part of a creative project team.
