NFL Wire Site Editor/Bloggers
USA TODAY Sports Media Group
USA TODAY Sports Media Group is looking to expand its inventory of NFL Wire web sites. We are seeking applicants to fill team site editor/bloggers and contributor roles for these new sites.
Ideal candidates are: 
·         Experienced writers/editors/ in the space who can perform under deadline.

·         Prolific content producers with a high degree of social media savvy.
·         Avid, passionate football fans.
·         Positive-minded problem-solvers.
·         Thorough knowledge of AP style.
·         Leaders capable of giving as well as following instructions.
·         An understanding of Web content production, especially on WordPress platform.
·         Excellent communicators, both to a mass audience of fans and internal partners.
Primarily responsible for all written and video content on NFL Wire team web site, including the creation of written and video posts , but not limited to:
- News and feature articles, analysis and commentary

- Social media reporting
- Video creation and placement in coordination with appropriate staff
Workload typically results in an average of six posts created a day. Posts are commonly 200-250 words and typically are news or buzzworthy items surrounding the team. All articles and videos are posted in a timely manner upon being thoroughly proofed for errors.

Creation and embedding relevant feature products, such as video, images, GIFs, photos, galleries, polls on appropriate posts. Oversees all social media efforts on the site's channels as a primary duty.
Coordination of contributors to assist in the creation of content surrounding the team and the NFL, including idea generation, coaching/training, proofreading and editing and publishing their work in a timely manner.


Collaboration and communication with peers and managers regarding video production, feature packages, related content and newsworthy events.
Attend and participate in a weekly conference call.

Is actively available to monitor common news channels in media to identify news items and write them as they break, and ensure timely creation of a post.

These are contracted (1099) positions. Site Editors are paid a highly competitive monthly salary and can include bonuses for traffic.
